Windows 8.1 and OS X Mavericks, two different approaches

As I imagine you already know, Microsoft announced a while ago the launch of its first preview of Windows 8.1, being yesterday the one chosen to launch the official download of the same and that the users who want it, can check what new they have integrated. Besides, they have also given the third quarter of the year as a deadline for the launch of the final version.

On the other hand a couple of weeks ago OS X Mavericks announced with a series of new features and integrations with iOS, in addition to the introduction of native applications such as Maps or iBooks adapted to Mac with new improvements to extend the battery, the notification center ...

The reason for this article is in the way of approaching the progress of both systems where sometimes the breaking schemes for wanting to run too much it means rethinking old ideas to re-integrate them. I say this because it is already known that version 8.1 will bring back the long-awaited start button, which many users of that system claimed at the time, having been eliminated at a stroke by choice of its person in charge at that time, Steve Sinofsky.

From my point of view, the redesign of Windows has overly oriented to touch terminals where productivity can be high if we use the touch interface a lot, but this formula does not work for desktop or conventional PC users, where the loss of time for certain tasks such as accessing the control panel is too much for trying to combine a whole system -in-one for almost all kinds of devices. The change has been crude and Microsoft has seen that sometimes a breath of fresh air does not mean a hurricane and they have decided to back down to return to the "basic" scheme of the start button.

On the side that touches Mavericks I have seen a more logical evolution within the possibilities that Mountain Lion already offered, polishing details and adding others that were lacking for a long time such as the Finder tabs or the simpler label management, however on the other hand they have also continued to bring positions between iOS and OS X without confusing both in a strange "hybrid" as if it seems to me that it is in some respects Windows 8.

With this I do not mean that you have to be conformist and just adapt, but in certain cases innovation does not mean breaking with all the previous, but learning from the previous to improve what is new to come.

I agree with you, windows 8 has been a total shit, I know many people who have bought a new pc and have opted for those that have Windows 7 installed, although they are theoretically a little older equipment.

I fully agree. At my work, my colleagues are clueless with Windows 8.

I have been a mac user for 4 or 5 years now that I bought my first macbook and I have already had the opportunity to try many OS X, from leopard to mavericks, in my opinion the best, the fastest, most efficient and most efficient OS has been X snow leopard without a doubt, because I think that lion, mountain lion and mavericks (recently updated) are slower and consume more battery than normal by having many native iOS apps integrated and today I have a macbook pro 2013 intel core i7 8gb ram, my mac is supposed to go flying with OS X mavericks compared to my first white macbook that I had and I had it with snow leopard being an older processor and less ram capacity I feel it the same or faster than My current macbook pro, as for windows I definitely think it is a total failure, and I have seen many users, friends or acquaintances of mine who prefer windows 7 or even windows xp to windows 8, I personally installed my macbook pro windows 7 because the 8 I definitely do not like it, starting with its interface, it is more difficult than a conventional Windows 7, apart from that I feel that OS is very slow, but returning to the subject if a comparison is made between OS X mavericks and windows 8 definitely OS X mavericks crushes windows 8 in many ways,
