I just saw a Kiwinho tutorial that explains it very well and I'm going to explain it here in a summarized way.
- We download the MacFuse from the web http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/
Note: It seems that unlike what Kiwinho tells us about different versions for Tiger and Leopard, now there is only a single file that I suppose works for both systems. - We open the DMG package, we execute the MacFUSE.pkg installer that appears… Continue… continue… continue… close.
- We down http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/ the file Corresponding DMG.
- We open the DMG package, we execute the NTFS-3G.pkg installer that appears… Continue… Restart.
Once we have restarted we can write to Windows NTFS partitions.
Well, I have installed it as you said and now the external hard drive does not detect me 🙁 (ntfs) before, it only let me read.
and the worst thing is that I don't know how to uninstall macfuse and the ntfs-3g thing ... 🙁
Have you rebooted? I'm okay…
To remove, type in a terminal:
sudo /Library/Filesystems/fusefs.fs/Support/uninstall-macfuse-core.sh
To remove the ntfs-3g you have to open the dmg with which you installed it and run from the terminal sudo / path_where_the_dmg / Uninstall NTFS-3G.command
I have tried with the other file, which put (stable) and with that it already works fine.
Thank you very much for the contribution!! 🙂
Since I have the airport extreme, all my disks shared by it are as hfs, both from windows and mac computers I can write to them without problems.
Hello, I would appreciate if you could tell me how to uninstall,
Thank you
Sorry, I was saying that the method indicated above did not work for me, any tips?
ok, solved, in case someone has problems to uninstall ntfs-3g, look for the following file on the net, which has an uninstall script:
NTFS-3G_1.1120-stable-catacombae.dmg
Has anyone noticed that disk writes go very slow with these tools? If you know how to solve this, please tell me.
