AirPods production to be cut due to lower sales

AirPods

If you want to buy some AirPods right now, we have three models on the market. Two of them are scheduled to be renewed this year. However, Apple has another concern involved. According to the new information that is mentioned and it seems to be correct, the production of the headphones will fall due to the decrease in sales of the same.

According to Nikkei Asia Apple is cutting its planned production of AirPods wireless earbuds by 25-30% this year. Sales of the headphones are estimated to be between 75 and 85 million units in this year 2021. Initial production targets were around 110 million units.

The reason is none other than the decline in sales of these headphones. A specific product is not established, that is, it is not discussed whether the "fault" is with the original AirPods, the Pro or the Max. We assume that the competition is already overwhelming and they exist in the market many similar models from very competitive brands.

Apple hopes to sell between 75 and 85 million units by 2021, compared to a previous production forecast of 110 million units.

The most significant reduction in orders is for the second trimester towards the beginning of the third trimester. Inventory levels [in warehouses] and in-store stock for AirPods are currently high and demand is not as strong as expected.

As we said at the beginning, two of the current AirPods models are waiting, according to rumors, to be updated in the middle of this year. We assume that this could increase sales a bit for the new features.

We already know that Apple does not give sales figures in its reports, we will wait for the analysts They will be able to make a forecast of the sales you have made of AirPods.
