Last April, Apple signed Antonio Martínez, former Facebook worker and author of the book Chaos Monkeys for your advertising team. Shortly after taking up their job, several employees circulated a petition and an investigation be opened into their hiring.
The reasons that led Apple employees to request his dismissal are found in the book he published. In early May, a few days after joining Apple, He was fired. Tech journalists Kara Swisher and Casey Newton they have interviewed Antonio Martínez via Twitter Spaces.
Antonio assures that his dismissal it was a hasty decision by Apple. Due to a strict disclosure agreement, Antonio has not provided additional information about his dismissal. In the book Chaos Monkey, Antonio lashes out at women, describing them as "soft and weak, spoiled and naive despite their pretensions to worldliness, and generally full of shit."
Antonio states that the phrase was taken out of context and that he was only referring to a joke made by his girlfriend at the time. Curiously, his editor wanted to delete that paragraph, not because of its potential to cause controversy (and that in the end was the reason for his dismissal) but because of the brevity, however Antonio wanted to keep it at all costs.
Antonio stated during the interview that "In retrospect, I would not have written it that way." At the moment, the only thing we know is that Antonio was fired from Apple however, we have no news about the possible investigation claimed by Apple employees about his hiring but it is possible that some other employee ends up in the strike queue.
