One of the most complete applications when it comes to creating GIFs from a static image or from a video, has just made the leap to macOS Catalina. Animatrice joins the club of applications that put the batteries being compatible with the latest version of the macOS operating system.
Every day we use GIFs more to give answers and not only on social networks. Instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp and Telegram incorporate search engines for this. But we could be totally original creating our own, from the Mac and easily with this application.
Animatrice is still easy to use on macOS Catalina too
The first What should we do to use the application from our Mac, is to determine the origin of the new project. As easy as directly drag and drop the image files you want to join to the top of the main application window or choose to burn new content.
The application is capable of recording activity on the screen. But the most incredible thing about it is that it can be used for recording from any camera connected to the Mac.
In the editing area is where we can start creating our most original GIF to be able to later share it with everyone we know. Can be exported Animatrice projects as animated GIF, PNG, or WebP files, as MP4 or WebM videos, or as TIFF stacks.
One of the features that makes this application so powerful is that from the Settings panel we can adjust the FPS speed (frame per second), set the size of the output image and decide if you want to keep the aspect ratio.
As you can see, it is a very complete tool that now, in its new version compatible with macOS Catalina, has added the following functionalities:
- Support for export as HEIC stacks (no time) as well as the import of HEIC batteries. If you prefer JPG, no problem, you already know how to convert from one format to another without third-party applications.
- HEVC import and export support, and HEVC with transparency, that is, video.
- File names are now preserved during conversion.
