Apple integrates Firefox and Chrome bookmarks for iCloud in Windows

iCloud-bookmarks-0

Apple just updated its Control Panel for iCloud in Windows to the version 3.0 at the same time that iOS 7 was launched, with different improvements and especially the synchronization of our bookmarks in Chrome and Firefox, so now it is much easier to have everything more organized if we use one of these two browsers.

Apart from this novelty synchronization continues between iPhones, iPads, iPod touch, Mac and PC with contacts, calendar and email.

Before this update you could only get the synchronization with Internet Explorer in Windows but now if we use Chrome for example on the iPhone and we are saving our favorites and bookmarks in this browser, we will find them available on our PC and only on Windows since this option is not yet available on Mac and I think that until the update to Mavericks, Apple is not going to implement it.

In any case, the process is not carried out automatically but we must download the extension corresponding in Chrome and Firefox called iCloud Extension Bookmarks to start synchronizing them, which can be downloaded from their respective websites.

The download weighs specifically 67.29MB, and can be downloaded directly from the Apple support page.

According to Apple's website, the requirements to install this control panel are:

  • Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later or an updated browser (for mail, contacts, and calendars)
  • Internet Explorer 9 or later, Firefox 22 or later, or Google Chrome 28 or later (for bookmarks)
  • Broadband Internet access
  • Note that Apple no longer supports Safari for Windows in this version.
