Bear, another beautiful and practical alternative to Evernote

Bear, another beautiful and practical alternative to Evernote

Ever since Evernote announced changes to its subscription options and limited the number of devices users with a free account can use to just two, it seems like everyone has been looking for viable alternatives. In the App Store, for both Mac and iOS devices, there are various applications that can fulfill the functions of Evernote, including the native app of the house, Notes. But now the umpteenth alternative has just appeared, Bear.

Bear made its debut last Thursday, November XNUMX. It is an application to capture notes and to write, in the style of Evernote, Notebook and many others. Its design is really nice, clean and carefulIt also offers a large number of functions and features. However Bear is an app that is born very limited for its free version, something that could affect its greater or lesser success.

Bear is probably the app I would like to need

Bear It has entered my eyes, why are we going to fool ourselves. I have opened the Mac App Store on my Mac and suddenly, I have come across it. I loved the screenshots and thought "I want this on my Mac." Without thinking twice I downloaded it and that's when my disappointment started. I'm going to be clear and resounding: the free solutions that I use at the moment to capture notes fully cover my needs and consequently, I do not plan to pay a penny for Bear, nor do I for Evernote. And not because they are not good applications, very practical and very useful, but because I don't need them. However, if you need advanced functions, And Evernote's prank has sat you like a kick in the royal gonads, so Bear may be that alternative you need.

Behind the development of Bear there are two years of intense work to which we must add four months in beta phase correcting, improving and perfecting. This already gives us an idea that the product that we are going to find will be of high quality.

Creating a writing application has been a very exciting and unique experience and we believe that you will find Bear a useful and easy-to-use piece of software.

These are the most outstanding features of Bear, in addition to its incredible and beautiful design however, as I said at the beginning, the basic option is very limited For example, it does not allow you to change the white theme to any of the other available themes, nor does it support synchronization between devices.

Price

Bear is a free app available for both Mac and iPhone and iPad, with all the limitations that I have mentioned and some more.

Then we have the version Bear Pro It does offer advanced features, including syncing between all your devices, a ton of themes to choose from, exporting, and so on. This version works through a single subscription that covers all devices and exists in two modes: € 1,49 per month (with a free trial week) or € 14,99 per year (with one month free trial).

Bear looks really good, but we'll see if it manages to gain a foothold in the "tight" App Store.

The same thing happened to me as the editor of the Post. Yesterday I opened the App Store and I was surprised by the application and when I saw that it was free I downloaded it immediately. It looks quite attractive, but when I discovered that it was a very limited version if one does not pay, I deleted it immediately (of course after writing and trying something or other). It is not that we do not want to pay for the apps, I have bought many, but at the moment there are others that work very well like OneNote.

It would be good to know what apps does the writer of this post use?

Hello! Well for "notes" I use Apple Notes. I definitely switched to it when Evernote limited the number of devices to two. I know that there are more complete alternatives but in the end the best app is the one that best responds to the user's needs and in my specific case, I have plenty.
A greeting and thank you very much for your comment.

I still can't find an alternative to Evernote. that allows me to search for text in photos and documents, and direct scanning with scannable. If you know of any, let them know.
Microsoft's is fine, but it would only need the direct taking of multiple photos.
