In 2016 Apple was convicted by a Federal Judge to pay the VirnetX company an amount of 302 million dollars, for having infringed a number of patents. Later, this amount was increased by another judge due to interest and court costs to almost 440 millions of dollars.
But Apple did not give up and wanted to continue fighting in the courts so that this sanction and judicial loss did not remain like that. But it seems that Apple's intentions will not be fulfilled, in this refusal of the Supreme Court to receive more data from the company led by Cook.
The appeals in the VirnetX case against Apple, seem a dead end
After Apple was sentenced to pay compensation to VirnetX, Apple has followed the judicial path with the intention that justice would finally agree with the company with the bitten apple. But the play has not gone well for the company.
This dispute has been at stake for more than 10 years. In 2010 VirnetX denounced Apple for infringing four patents. Specifically patents that implied that Apple services, FaceTime and VPN had used technology from the Nevada company.
After many hours before the Courts, these ruled in favor of the plaintiff. They imposed an economic sanction on Apple, which being serious, does not mean any damage to it. However, the Californian company decided to appeal, no longer on a question of money.
Last Monday and after many appeals, the Federal Judge did not want to receive Apple's new proposal to avoid having to pay the 440 million fine imposed. It seems that the patience of Justice has come to an end and everything indicates that Apple will have to pay the penalty.
Apple still has many open judicial fields. It is what it has to be a company of the importance of Apple.
