However, the truth is that the award has not lasted that long, since recently we have been able to know the new list of the most innovative companies of the year, and in this case we can see how Apple has dropped nothing more and nothing less than to number 17, lagging behind other big ones.
Apple falls from first place to seventeenth on the list of the most innovative companies
From what we have learned, it seems that in this case Fast Company has already created and published on its website its ranking of the most innovative companies for this year 2019. As we mentioned, Although it is true that last year 2018 Apple achieved the first position, this time it has gone to 17, so although we have to take into account that the fact that it appears on the list already makes it a fairly prominent company, the truth is that it is not a completely positive result.
In this way, we see how other greats of the technology industry that may not be as important, as they could be Square, Oatly, Twitch, Shopify, or the Alibaba group, have achieved higher results than Apple on the list, something that is probably because as the most important product in terms of innovation they have taken the A12 Chip from the iPhone.
Apple's most impressive and innovative product of 2018 was not a phone or a tablet, but a chip: the A12 Bionic. Debuting on iPhones last fall, it's the industry's first processor based on a seven-nanometer manufacturing process. The 6.900 billion transistors in the A12 offer much faster performance, lower power consumption, and more speed for handling intensive applications such as AI, AR, and high-end photography. At a time when it remains more difficult than ever to induce consumers to upgrade, as evidenced by Apple's surprising January move to cut revenue guidelines on iPhone sales, the innovative chip design positions the company to create a new generation of compelling experiences.
Hopefully this year from Apple they surprise us enough in terms of innovation in the next events of this year so that in 2020 they achieve a better result, something that is undoubtedly possible, although it is true that innovation in the technology sector currently has the bar set quite high.
