Apple to renew MacBook Pro and Air in October

Apple has taken it easy on the update that many users demand for Mac computers. In fact, so far this year, no computer has been updated, with the only exceptions of the 12 ″ MacBook and the MacBook Air, although the updating the latter was limited to expanding its RAM.

But apparently, it is not too late, and it seems that the company has chosen to concentrate all its updates and new launches for the last quarter of 2016, much more profitable due to the proximity of the Christmas holidays and that consumer fever that overwhelms us all. Thus, according to the latest Bloomberg report, very soon we will see new MacBook Pro and new MacBook Air. Although the news does not stop there.

Apple focuses MacBook updates late in the year

Starting next Wednesday, September 7, we must be prepared for a veritable rain of new releases and updates from the apple company. We will start with new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. Possibly the news will continue with the new Apple Watch 2. And to this we must add the launch of new versions for all operating systems: macOS Sierra, iOS 10, watchOS 3 and tvOS 10. Shortly after, between October and November, we could even see new iPad Air and Mini. And according to Bloomberg, also new MacBook Pros and new MacBook Airs. Thus, the only one that in 2016 will be out of receiving any minimal update will be, once again, the forgotten iPod.

MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac and 5K monitor

As made public by Bloomberg, Apple is planning to release an update to its line of Mac computers as early as October.. This includes, as we said, new MacBook Pros and new MacBook Airs.

Additionally, this report also notes that Apple is working on a 5K independent display in collaboration with LG Electronics, while planning a updated iMac models including new AMD graphics chips.

MacBook Pro: slimmer, with OLED touchpad and Touch ID

As we already "know" from previous leaks, the Bloomberg report reiterates that the new MacBook Pro will be thinner and include an OLED touch bar. This touch panel will be displayed above the keyboard, in place of the current function keys. It will be conceptual, that is, it will offer different options based on the application we are using. Plus, will integrate a Touch ID that will allow you to log in quickly through the fingerprint and without entering any password. It will be similar to the behavior of the Home button on the iPhone or iPad.

For example, if a user is at their desktop, the screen will display a virtual representation of the standard function row, which includes media and brightness controls. When in an app, the virtual row will show specific options for the task in question, but volume controls and a switch to show default functions will always be present.

macOS Sierra confirms future MacBook Pro with faster transfer

Apple has reportedly called this feature internally "Dynamic Function Row" or 'Dynamic Feature Row', but its official name may differ when announced.

MacBook Air with USB-C

On the other hand, also the MacBook Air will be updated, although we should not expect trans-transformations. People say that will include USB-C ports and possibly Thunderbolt 3. The truth is that there are no more details about these laptops.

Plus…

Apple's plans to upgrade its line of computers also go through the creation of a monitor with 5K resolution in collaboration with LG. This collaboration appears to have been discontinued two months after the Thunderbolt Displays were ousted. At the moment, it is not clear if this novelty could arrive at the end of 2016 for "some of the new Mac products", according to the report.

It seems pretty clear that we have two major events left. September, focused on the iPhone 7, the Apple Watch 2 and the new operating systems. And October, focused on the Mac line.

Once again, it's time to wait, but with enthusiasm and excitement.
