Apple launches a replacement program for some third-generation Apple TVs that are having problems with the WiFi network. It seems that these problems do not affect all devices, as often happens in these cases in which Apple opens an 'incident' of this type with one of its products, exposes the serial numbers of the affected devices so that users can change it .
The failure that Apple warns about its third generation Apple TV, occurs when it Cannot find the home WiFi network, does not allow connection to the found network or simply suffers disconnections constant when we are connected in it.
At the beginning of the year Apple changed some of the internal components in this Apple TV generation and part of the modification made in the product seems related to the problem in the WiFi connection of the device, at least that is what the FCC documents that showed a new chip installed with new features for the wireless connection.
At the moment, on the official Apple support website we do not see the Apple TV added to the replacement program, but surely they will add it soon. We leave below the image with the last three letters of the serial numbers that enter into the Apple program; If a company technician reviews it and detects the problem, they will change it to us at no cost:
If your serial number is among those possibly affected and your Apple TV fails with the WiFi connection, I advise you to wait until Apple reflects the replacement program on its official support page call to inform you about it and what steps we have to follow. Apple adds two-year-old third-generation Apple TVs to this replacement program.
