After hearing the news that Apple was leaving Aperture development and support in favor of its renewed photography app to come has made Adobe steps up to promote its products and make it as easy as possible for future users of its platform, more specifically it has announced that it works in software to bring a much more automated transition experience.

We refer of course to Adobe Lightroom which would become the photo editing program equivalent to Aperture at Apple. In the statement made by the company that created Creative Cloud you can read:

At Adobe, we are working on a migration tool to help bring your photos into Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® from Aperture, but if you're eager to switch before the tool is ready, this guide can help ease the transition. We recognize that this migration can be a difficult process and offer the following resources and methodology to help you get up to speed with Lightroom and provide a roadmap for successfully migrating your photos.

The first challenge is that the terminology, design, and controls of the two applications are different. It's a good idea to start and familiarize yourself with photo processing in Lightroom before migrating your photos from Aperture. You can do this by taking some new photos, importing them into Lightroom, and then continuing to use Lightroom.

The new photos app for OS X will be launched in early 2015 Even though it will be a more general application and less focused on the professional sector, a look at what Apple has shown about said application, reveals that the functionality, especially with regard to OS 8, will gain a lot in September. Adobe has also detailed some plans for Lightroom in order to appease professional photo editors.
