Once again we talk about the loved (by some) and hated (by many others) keyboard shortcuts. If you have managed to get used to and memorize some of the keyboard shortcuts available in the applications you use the most, you have surely noticed how your productivity has improved.

If you regularly use the Finder more than you would like, it is likely that with the keyboard shortcuts that we show you below, you can reduce the time of use you spend with this file manager app. The recommended thing, in order to get used to using them (and eventually memorize them) is that you print them and place them next to the monitor to always have them at hand.

  • Command ⌘ + Control + Up Arrow: Open the folder in a new window.
  • Command ⌘ + Delete: Send the file to the trash.
  • Shift + Command ⌘ + Delete: Empty the trash.
  • Option + Shift + Command ⌘ + Delete: Empty the trash without the confirmation box displayed.
  • Option + Volume up / down / mute: Show sound preferences.
