The animated short Blush is the result of the collaboration between the production company Skydance Animation and Apple TV +, in fact it is the first product that leaves the agreement reached by both companies and that does nothing more than reinforce the animation material that will arrive on Apple TV + as Luck, Spellbound and the already available Wolfwalker, Oscar nominated from the Hollywood Academy.
The animated short Blush has been written and directed by Joe Mateo, Emmy award winner for the animated short Landing Patrol in 2009 in addition to 3 nominations for the Annie Awards, awards to the animation industry in which the film Wolkwalkers has also received different nominations.
John Lasseter is in executive production of this short, as well as Heather Schmidt Feng Yanu, who will do the production duties. Heather has previously worked on movies such as Toy Story and Cars.
Blush follows the journey of a horticulturist-astronaut lost after his crash landing on a desolate dwarf planet. When an ethereal visitor arrives, the once lone traveler discovers the joy of building a new life and realizes that the universe has handed him a surprising salvation.
Regarding the release date of this short, Apple has not commented on the matter. Most likely, this short film will be ahead of the Luck movies, where we will find Jane Fonda's voice. Regarding Spellbound, very little is known about this title. The launch of both titles is scheduled for 2022.
Behind both productions, there is also, John Lasseter, the former head of animation for Disney and Pixar until 2018, when he was forced to leave his post over his sexual harassment case.
