Dropbox launches its password manager for Mac

Dropbox beta for macOS looks like iCloud

We had already commented that those in charge of Dropbox were working on a way to launch their own password management program. That day has already come and the extension is officially announced by this famous cloud storage program, in which the user can manage their passwords.

In the age in which we live it is easy to have more than a hundred passwords. Email is just the beginning, because if we think about all the Newsletter to which we are subscribed, the Internet pages in which we have registered ... it would be overwhelming to remember all the passwords. Many users resort to using the same password for almost all their actions on the Internet, something that is highly not recommended.

Passwords must also meet a series of minimums in order to be secure. So between the number of sites and the quality of the passwords, it is very useful to have a password manager that not only saves information about them, information that is very sensitive, but also advises on new passwords.

Apple has its own password management system and I have to say that it is very useful. But if you prefer to delegate this position to an external program, Dropbox joins that type of program and It does this by being available as a browser extension, as a mobile application, and as a desktop application.

In addition to this application has been launched Dropbox Vault. Dropbox customers can designate a specific section within Dropbox to add an additional layer of security and protection to files uploaded to the cloud.

The backup. Users will be able to select folders to back up automatically, and this will sync across devices and platforms as well.

Dropbox Vault and the password manager is intended for premium subscribers. The backup option will be available to any user.
