How to install OS X Mavericks on a PC (Hackintosh part 2)

hackintosh-2

Good now we already have the USB ready and we enter fully into the installation of OS X Mavericks on our PC. For this it is recommended have a separate hard drive We have our current operating system installed (not mandatory), whether Windows or whatever, and before starting with the installation of Mavericks disconnect from the SATA port where we have Windows and our data to avoid problems, also if we have other HDDs , USB connected devices or multiple monitors, we will disconnect them from the PC too. Once these previous steps have been carried out and with our USB already prepared, we continue with the second part of the installation.

Let's start with creating our Hackintosh

  • The first thing we have to do is Boot of our team from usb depending on the type of plate and bios it will be one way or another
  • Once the equipment starts from the usb we do not touch anything until we get the Mavericks install menu
  • Once we are in the installer we click on the top bar Utilities -> disk utility
  • Now we have to format our hard drive (For this reason we comment on disconnecting the main one, if we have two), we have to do it in the same way as the usb, that is, we create a single partition, we select the partition table in GUID format and give him the Mac OS Plus disk format (Journaled)
  • Once the disk is formatted, we close the disk utility and we continue with the installer, we select our hard drive for installation and let it finish
  • Once our team has finished will restart
  • We reboot from the usb, NOT FROM THE HDD

The next step is to patch the installation

  • From The installer we go to the top bar Utilities–> Terminal and we write the following commands between command and command we give enter
  • cp –R /System/Library/Extensions/NullCPUPowerManagement.kext / Volumes / »OS X» / System / Library / Extensions /
  • cp –R /System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext / Volumes / »OS X» / System / Library / Extensions /
  • Note: where it says "OS X" you have to put the name you have given to the partition of your HDD the quotes do not remove them
  • We finally write reboot and we let it reboot alone

Now we start OS X Mavericks on the PC

  • Once rebooted we reboot from usb but this time we select the Mavericks installation of our HDD
  • Once the system is started, the first thing we must do is go to System Preferences–> Security and Privacy–> and in Allow applications downloaded from we have to select Anywhere
  • Now we go to the folder of the utilities that we have in the root of the usb and we execute the chameleon application, but this time in the installer we indicate that we want to install it on our hard drive
  • we passed the Extra folder from the root of the usb to the root of our HDD
  • Once installed we restart our equipment and leave it boot from hard driveIf you want to make sure that it starts from the HDD when it shows you the logo of the board, remove the usb

How to install a kext

  • To install a .kext is as easy as put the file in the path / System / Library / Extensions
  • We run the utility Kext Utility we let her finish
  • We reboot the pc and we will have the kext installed

Depending on the motherboard you have, you will have to install the kext to have audio and network. In the attached file that we find in the first part we leave the universal kext of the sound. Without more to say, if we meet the necessary requirements we can already enjoy our Hackintosh with OS X Mavericks installed.

We also leave two videos in which he himself creator of this tutorial, Juan Fco Carter shows us the steps that we have explained in these two articles starting with the creation of the USB:

And the installation of OS X Mavericks:

We remember again, that not all PCs can support the installation of OS X Mavericks, that is why we recommend that you run this tutorial on a separate hard drive from the one you use daily and that you read both parts of the tutorial before starting the installation. If it doesn't work, don't be angry, think that this is 'not entirely legal'.

Hi Jordi, I have followed all the steps but now I am stuck.

I can start OS X, but for this I must use the -x option in the boot and have the installation pen plugged in, on the other hand I cannot find drivers for my graphics (6950HD Shaphire 2GB) you know if it is compatible or some solution since always that there is some graphic load the animation slows down.

    Thanks, good tuto 🙂

    4 gb ram
    Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5650

    Please help

Your Grivera21 problem may be the AMD processor, you should try a 'retouched' Mavericks in part one of the tutorial puts it: [quote] The first and most important thing is to comment that some requirements are needed in terms of computer hardware (especially motherboard compatible base and Intel processor) [/ quote]

Good Jordi, I have followed the complete process and when I start from the USB, the apple and the circle appear below, and then the screen goes black, do you know what that could be?
My laptop is a Packard Bell Easy note TJ66, Intel dual core 2ghz processor and the graphics card is an Nvidia Gforce G105M.

Thank you very much in advance

Good Saul, it could be many things but it is possible that your laptop is not compatible or even that the USB is bad. I recommend you visit the page http://www.tonymacx86.com/home.php in which you will find a lot of information.

Good evening, well I have an ASUS K53SD with an Intel Core I5 processor.
I have been able to mount the Mavericks on this computer, but it has not recognized the wireless network device, the camera and the sound. Besides this this equipment comes with independent video for vga «NVIDIA GFORCE 610M» for the VGA output.

Well my question is if there is any application or routine per terminal that helps me define which drivers I should install?
since I have seen that in tonymacx86 there is an application (MultiBeast) that allows you to select a DSDT for the drivers and then knowing which devices to create this base system file to mount the drivers. Thank you so much for your attention.

In principle I do not know any application that tells you the drivers you should install on your machine. Greetings

Good morning, I am following the manual to install mavericks on a Dell vostro 3360. I have created the USB. When booting from it, it tells me that it has encountered errors, but loads the installation window. Well the apple appears and the charging circle below it. After a while, just above the block there is a little square with a prohibition sign. What can happen.

I have started the installation indicating with -v and there comes a point where it does not stop coming out, still waiting for a boot device. How do I solve it. Thanks

Hi Jordi, I have Mac OS X (Mavericks) installed on a hard drive… It turns out that when I turn on the PC that I am in the part of the configuration of my MAC account, the whole system freezes…. Do you have any idea what this error could be due to? I have a PS / 2 keyboard that does not work, I have come to think that it may be because of that, because the kext for PS / 2 was not installed, later I will try with a USB keyboard and I will let you know if the problem continues….

In any case, my pc has this configuration… Board: MSI 760gm-p23, Processor: AMD FX8300, 8GB of Memory, Zotac GTX580… I await your prompt response !! Thank you very much in advance.
