With the arrival of the new operating systems of the bitten apple both for your mobile devices and for Macs, new functionalities also arrive that we will explain little by little. In this article we are going to focus on the possibility that iOS 8.1 offers with the iPhone to be able to use its data connection on our Mac to connect to the Internet in a very simple way.

Until now, the way we had to connect from a Mac to the Internet through our iPhone was by sharing the Internet from it. To do this, we went to Settings> Internet Sharing, set a password and searched for the network created by the iPhone in the WiFi's detected by the Mac. Now a new era begins and the Instat Hotspot protocol arrives in iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite.

Before the new systems were launched, as we have told you, the way we had to connect from our Mac to the Internet through the data connection of our iPhone was by sharing the Internet on the iPhone. To do this, we had to enter it, go to Settings> Internet sharing and activate it, then put a password and finally we searched the Mac for the iPhone signal and we connected after entering the Wi-Fi password on the Mac.

Now those of Cupertino take a twist and have created what is known as Instant Hotspot, a protocol that makes use of iCloud privileges, so that if we have both devices activated and with the same Apple ID, that is, with the same iCloud account, we will no longer have to be sharing the Internet or creating keys. It will be enough that we have the Bluetooth of both devices activated and automatically when we go to the Mac to the top bar in the WiFi networks area, we will see in the drop-down the accessible iphone signal to connect directly.

Both systems detect that it is a Mac in which the same iCloud account is located as in the iphone and skip the step of having to request to share the Internet and enter a password.
