Yes now! OS X Yosemite 10.10 is now available

osx-yosemite-available

After a few hours of the keynote the new OS X Yosemite 10.10 is finally available for download worldwide. It seems that some problem forced Apple to postpone the launch of the new operating system until a few minutes ago when it finally appears in the Mac App Store (thanks for letting us know in the previous entry and for our social networks)

The truth is that at first we were all convinced that Apple would launch the new OS X Yosemite at the time of finishing the Keynote but it was not. Now it is possible to carry out the download and we leave the direct link to the Mac App Store so that you can install it on your Mac.

The description of the new OS X Yosemite 10.10 is extensive (We leave a copy below) and the operating system occupies 5,16 GB of space on our disk, but a minimum of 8GB is always required.

A new design.
• We've redesigned the Dock, with instantly recognizable icons.
• The system has a new typeface that is sharper and easier to read.
• The translucent effect helps you see what is in the window. And behind her.
• The simplified toolbars leave more space for your content.

Handoff. Follow where you were going.
• Start something on the Mac and continue on the iPhone or iPad. Or vice versa.
• Handoff works with Mail, Safari, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Maps, Messages, Reminders, Calendar, Contacts and other apps.

IPhone calls. Now on your Mac.
• Make or answer calls on your Mac even if you have your iPhone in the other room.
• To call, simply click on any phone in Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Spotlight, or Safari.

SMS. The green messages from the iPhone also reach your Mac.
• Receive text messages on all your devices.
• Send and receive SMS from your Mac.

Instant Hotspot. Internet access anywhere.
• Activate the option easily from the Mac.
• Share your iPhone connection without taking it out of your pocket.

AirDrop. Now also between the Mac and iOS.
• Share files with another Mac or iOS device even if you are not connected to the Internet.

New Today view in Notification Center.
• With the widgets you will immediately see the news of the calendar, the weather and the stock market.
• Download widgets from the Mac App Store.

Spotlight. Now you have more answers.
• Spotlight has a new design with interactive previews.
• Search your Mac as well as Wikipedia, Maps, iTunes, the news, the billboard and much more.
• Convert currencies and units of measure.

Safari. Smarter, more elegant.
• With the new favorites view you have the pages you like the most at hand.
• Spotlight tips include information from Wikipedia, Maps, and other sources.

Mail. Big news is coming.
• Markup lets you fill out and sign PDF forms or annotate images. All without leaving Mail.
• Send emails of up to 5 GB with Mail Drop without worrying that they will occupy too much.

Improvements in Messages.
• Name group conversations to find out which is which.
• Add participants to the conversation, without having to create a new one.
• Share the screen from a conversation.

iCloud Drive. Any document. On all your devices.
• Save a file in iCloud and you can open it on your Mac, iPhone, iPad and even on a Windows PC.
• iCloud Drive is integrated into the Finder so you can organize your files however you want.
• You can even view the files of your iOS apps on your Mac.

In family. We all enjoy all the content.
• Up to six family members can share iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases, even with different accounts.
• Parents can authorize children's downloads with Request to Purchase.

Handoff requires iOS 8.

Calls require an iPhone with iOS 8.

An iPhone with iOS 8.1 is required for SMS.

Instant Hotspot requires an iPhone or iPad with a data connection and iOS 8.1.

Some features require an Apple ID, compatible hardware, compatible Internet access, or a telephone network. The corresponding rates and conditions will apply.

Enjoy the new OS X and remember the previous steps to have a good user experience with the new operating system of your Mac.

Question: if I have GM installed, will I have to do a fresh installation?

    1.    Jordi Giménez said

Hi Jimmy, in principle you can install on top without problem 😉 The GM and the final version are usually the same.

      regards

Hopefully later it won't tell me that I have a strange copy or that I can't have that version installed anymore.
Thanks for the reply! Greetings from Chile, where I always read them 🙂

It is possible that this is fixed with the new 8.1 released by Apple 😉 http://www.soydemac.com/2014/10/20/ios-8-ya-esta-disponible-para-su-descarga/

I have a macbook pro retina, and Yosemite still comes with many errors, when I open in finder I do not see the folders or files and that they are few, I must change to list mode to view them, black shadows, instability in safari ... shit no I know how after so many betas, they release this to the public.
