If your Mac already runs OS X Yosemite… Will it work with OS X El Capitan?

Just as rumors had predicted, OS X 10.11 El Capitan has fallen "short" in terms of news presented in the operating system, much more focused on general system improvements both in performance and security, it has remained without being an evolution as if it was OS X Yosemite with respect to OS X Mavericks.

Of course, not all features the next OS X update will be supported on all supported models listed. For example, Airdrop and Handoff require a relatively recent wireless network card that supports Wi-Fi Direct.
