Increase the number of photos that we can host in iCloud through streaming

ICLOUD LIMITS

One of the services that a large number of users of apple devices are using daily is the service of streaming of photographs that Apple makes available to them through iCloud.

As you know, in the beginning, the limit we had was 1000 photos so that when photo 1001 was saved, photo 1 was deleted. Also, the photos were not saved indefinitely since they begin to be deleted after a month of life. Now Apple updates the service and increases the limits as we discussed in this post.

It does not escape anyone that the streaming photo hosting service is quite limited if we compare it with the one offered by Flickr, but in this case, the incentive of Apple's service is to have the photos on all your devices synchronized and in iPhoto. After have that first limit of 1000 photos per month, Apple was updated and increased the limit to 10000 per month. The leap was very big and users who took a lot of photos were rewarded. However, Apple has again updated the figures and has also specified new ones to prevent inappropriate use of the iCloud Streaming service.

Now the limit has risen to 25000 photos per month, which you can store at any time but respecting that you will not be able to upload more than 1000 photos per hour, 10000 photos per day or 25000 photos in the month. From the month we already know that they will begin to be deleted automatically and that if before the month we reach more than 25000 photos, when we upload the photo 25001 will be deleted 1.

If you exceed one of these limits, uploading to My Photo Stream will temporarily stop and you may receive a notification message on your device. Your upload will automatically resume once you stop exceeding one of the limits (for example, the next hour or the next day).

On the other hand also reports on its website that now the limits of photos and videos that we can share is 1000 photos and videos per hour and 10000 photos and videos per day. Photo Stream supports the following image file types: JPEG, TIFF, PNG and RAW. ICloud Photo Sharing supports the following file types and video formats: MP4 and QuickTime files, and H.264 and MPEG-2 video formats. Videos can be up to 5 minutes duration.
