My mother said very often that "there are people for everything." And what reason was he. There are people willing to pay more than two hundred thousand euros for an employment form that co-founder Steve Jobs filled out in 1973, when he was finishing his studies at Reed College.
A plain stained paper that takes on great value to collectors simply because it was hand-filled by one of America's most iconic people: Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Some days ago I posted the news that a rare document was going to be auctioned. The original of a job application hand-filled out by Steve Jobs in 1973. Well, the auction has already taken place, and it has sold for a whopping $ 222.400 at an auction in London.
The document went on sale on February 24 in a month-long online auction. Jobs filled out the application back in the day hoping to get a job after dropping out of Reed College, which he attended for about six months. A year later, in 1974, Jobs joined Atari as a technician, where he later teamed up with Steve Wozniak to found Apple in 1976.
On the form, which had previously sold for $ 175.000 about three years ago, Jobs highlighted "English lit" as his specialty, while also listing "electronic technology" and "design engineer" as special skills and interests. The Apple co-founder also listed his computer and calculator skills.
The auction note says it is in "very good condition" with "light stains and old clear tape on the top edge." The document is accompanied with all the pertinent documentation certifying its authenticity.
If it follows the same progression of increasing value over time, the new buyer will be able to put it up for sale in another three years and get more than three hundred thousand dollars for it. I have always thought that investing in Apple is a safe bet ...
