So at least it has shown sending an email to the developers and making it clear that they should focus their efforts on this fundamental aspect for Apple and that it will integrate OS X Mavericks as a prominent feature from day one.
Certainly this function will allow us to use the notifications but sharply focused that we can keep up to date with updates to our preferred websites with information on sports results or changes in programming for example.
OS X Mavericks introduces a new way to keep users interested in your website on a large scale. You can now use Apple's push notification service to send notifications to your website users, so they appear right on your Mac desktop - even when Safari is not running. Push notifications in Safari work the same as push notifications in other apps, they display your website icon and notification text and which users can click to go directly to your website.
Apple too has left a video Of how prepare your website to implement this feature on your website later, something that I think is great to expand the possibilities of the site, being able to reach more users or as the text says, maintain the interest of already registered users.
Right now in Mountain Lion, notifications only reach at apps and updates from the Mac App Store, so expanding their scope is clearly a step forward to improve this feature so "little" exploited in OS X.
