How to change the name of our Trackpad, keyboard or Magic Mouse

This is a small tutorial that will allow us change the name of our trackpad, keyboard or Magic Mouse, which we use on the Mac individually and to our liking. In reality, it is very simple to do it, although it is true that it is not necessary to use these peripherals since the Mac itself renames them when we connect them automatically or it leaves the name of it, Apple Magic Mouse, Apple Trackpad, etc.

In addition, this change does not affect the operation of the mouse, keyboard or trackpad at all, so when we change the name we simply do that and allows us to continue working normally, yes, we will see it with a different name.

This little trick or tutorial requires a few steps to carry out, so let's explain it simply and clearly. The first thing is access System Preferences, once open we have to access Bluetooth and inside we will see everything that we have connected or have even connected on occasion.

We place ourselves on top of the trackpad, keyboard or mouse that we want to rename and simply we press right button or Ctrl + click. Three options are available:

We select the option "Rename" in this case and voila.

This little name change really helps us if we have more than one of these trackpads, keyboard or Magic Mouse, at home or at the office. It is simply that, a way to identify them in a simpler way, but it is only that, see and add a more personal name on them.

Anyway, I write this after too long ... The fact is that I have bought a second-hand mouse, a second-generation Magic Mouse and no matter how much I change the name, it does not change. Any suggestions? . Thanks!
