Safari Technology Preview version 113 now available for download

Safari Technology Preview Update 101

The trial version of the Safari browser, dubbed Safari Technology Preview, has just reached version 113, a browser where Apple try new features that, in most cases, end up reaching the final version of Safari, the native macOS browser.

This new version comes hand in hand with a large number of bug fixes (something quite common) and can be downloaded and used completely independently of Safari from macOS Catalina and macOS Big Sur, the next version of Apple's operating system for Mac that will arrive in its final version in the coming weeks.

This new version is based on the Safari 14 update which will be included natively in macOS Big Sur, so it includes new functionalities such as support for web extensions, authentication through Touch ID, support for YouTube videos in 4K resolution thanks to the VP9 codec compatibility ...

Despite being an experimental version, Safari Technology Preview is available for any developer or end user want to use it through this link, without having to have a developer account to be able to test the new features before they reach the final version of Safari in the form of an update.

Because macOS Big Sur it will not reach all the computers that today are compatible with macOS Catalina, Apple allows users and developers download a version for each operating system for both macOS Big Sur (currently in beta) and macOS Catalina 10.15.

If you want to try macOS Big Sur before the release of the final version, you can through Apple's public beta programSince a few weeks ago, any user without being a developer can install the latest available beta of the next version of Apple's operating system for Mac.
