This is Skoogmusic's Skoog 2.0 for Mac, a different way of making music

Skoog-side

If you thought you had seen it all, today we bring you an accessory at least very curious and that is that having the shape it has and being made of a kind of deformable foam is capable of detecting the deformations and sending them to the Mac, which with exclusive software converts in sounds. It is an input peripheral that what it does is convert the deformations of its surface in sounds of an instrument that you have previously programmed in the corresponding Mac application.

In these times it is not strange to see accessories like these and it is not the first time that I have been able to see an invention like this to make music. In this case, the Skoogmusic company has developed a kind of instrument, if it can be called that, who has been called Skoog.

It is a tactile and accessible cube that allows both children and adults and people with disabilities explore your creativity via Mac or iPad and the app Apple GarageBand. In this way, even if they are not able to play traditional instruments, they can be part of a group and participate in musical activities. The Skoog can be configured so that its sensitivity is necessary in each case and thus be the central axis of inclusive musical activities.

Skoog-3D

As its creators point out, this device expands the possibilities of music therapy for children with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome and other developmental problems and is that in a few minutes they begin to create and control sounds in an expressive and practical way. You will no longer have to have knowledge of the keyboard, guitar or other instruments since when you press the Skoog, it produces a physical stimulus that is interpreted by the Mac or iPad as a sound.

Connects to iPad via Bluetooth LE or Mac via USB, and includes its own free app (available in the App Store). It can even be used as a MIDI controller in other music applications. Then we leave you with a video in which you will see its virtues. You can find it on the Apple website at a price of 279,95 euros with VAT.
