As if the new iPhones, iPads, and the new Apple TV weren't enough, Apple might unveil even more hardware updates this fall. We are referring effectively to one of the most popular members of the Mac family, the iMac, which is supposed to undergo an update shortly over its entry model with a 21,5 ″ screen size.

According to other publications and leaks that have been happening in recent weeks, Apple announces new 21,5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display next week, even these new Macs could be in stores starting Tuesday, October 13. It was previously speculated with his presentation together with OS X El Capitan, something that in the end was proven as false information.

In terms of design, these new models will be very similar, if not the same as the current 21,5 ″ iMac, but will have a resolution of 4096 × 2304. This screen resolution was discovered for the first time in the code of one of the betas of OS X El Capitan, remember that the current iMac 21,5 ″ has a Full HD resolution, that is, 1920 × 1080. In addition, code was also discovered that made reference to the compatibility of the system with a Multi-Touch trackpad and Apple's virtual assistant, Siri.

For this same reason and taking into account the diagonal of the screen, the iMac 4K would have a pixel density of 218,6 ppi, being even higher than the current one. 27 ″ iMac with 5k resolution, which stays at 217,6 ppi. Even so, the difference is practically insignificant and is close to the 220 ppi that we see for example in the 15 ″ MacBook Pro Retina.

It is possible that, as happened with its model with a larger screen size, the 21,5 ″ iMac will keep the current model and the model with a "retina screen" increase your price by 200 Euros. We will see if the predictions are fulfilled in the end and we have the possibility of acquiring an iMac with a retina screen without having to make a large outlay compared to the larger model.
