The Banker: Open the way to other productions

New information can confirm that indeed, one of the reasons why Apple wanted to side with the film industry was to compete for these awards. Now we know that the production "The Banker" will close the thirty-third edition of the American film festival (AFI) next November 21.

In this way, the film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Anthony Mackie, will be eligible for the awards that can be awarded within the industry in this year 2019. A good move by Apple, which, as we said at the time, must renew a service that is covered by the all-powerful, Netflix and HBO.

The main actors of the film acquired by Apple "The Banker"

The movie The Banker, opens the way for other films to participate in this and other film festivals, in order to win over both the public and the critics and of course opt for different awards. All this together, will make Apple raise the cache of its service and be considered as a quality service versus others that focus on quantity.

The film, based on real events, tells the story of two African-American businessmen who in the 1960s hired a working-class white man (Nicholas Hoult) to pretend to be the head of their business empire. The end of this couple of bankers, posing as janitor and chauffeur, was to get home loans to the African American community in Jim Crow Texas, thus saving the racial prejudices of the time.
