Apple Releases Supplemental Update for macOS 10.15.6 to Fix Issues with VMWare

Catalina

One week after the release of macOS 10.15.6 Catalina, the guys from VMware announced that, after having received a large number of support requests related to the operation of their application, the problem of the malfunction that their application presented it was due to the latest update that Apple had released from Catalina.

From VWmare they urged users not to install that latest update, although it was too late, since it had taken almost a week to verify that the reason was not due to its application but to the update that Apple had launched. The only thing users could do was wait for Apple's next move.

According to Apple's release notes, the update fixes an issue that could cause virtualization applications, such as VMware, stop working. It also fixes an issue that could cause the 2020 iMac to appear discolored after coming out of sleep.

The full release notes from Apple are below:

  • Fixes a stability issue that could occur when running virtualization applications
  • Resolves an issue where an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) may appear discolored after coming out of sleep.

macOS Catalina 10.15.6 will probably be the latest macOS Catalina operating system update as Apple makes the transition to macOS Big Sur, the new version of macOS to be released in the fall.

The release date of macOS Big, version of macOS that leaves out all teams released before 2014, except Mac Pro, still unknown. Apple is expected to release the final version between late September and early October.
