Bob Chapek, who was forced to go back to the company, due to the coronavirus pandemic, after leaving his CEO position, affirms that thanks to the enormous success that Disney + is having, it has inspired them to be even more ambitious and increase investment in high-quality content.
Disney + has set itself the goal of creating more than 100 new titles per year distributed between Disney Animation, Disney Live Action, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, considering it as one absolute priority direct business with the consumer.
Disney + it took only 16 months to exceed 100 million subscribers since its launch in November 2019. The company's plans were to reach between 60 and 90 million subscribers in 2024, a figure that it exceeded at the end of 2020.
In fact, in just 5 months, Disney + already had more than 50 million subscribers. In the middle of November, was launched in Latin America, last geographic region where it was not yet available. Presumably, the company's growth slows in the coming months now that it is already available worldwide.
Apple still does not offer numbers
